Golf England Calls for Public Backing for 2030 Women's Golf Showcase Bid
The last European vs US women's golf contest held on European soil was in Spain in 2023, with the next edition set for the Netherlands four years from now.
After the latest men's golf championship success, the national golf association is pressing UK authorities to support its bid to organize the premier women's golf event on English soil for the first time.
This renowned competition pitting the best female golfers from Europe and America has been held twice in Scotland and in Wales yet never in England. An official proposal has been prepared to organize it at the Grove venue in Hertfordshire in 2030.
But planners are seeking thirty million pounds to finance the bid and at present only £10m has been secured. England Golf is urgently seeking government funding to guarantee the funding gap.

To organize the men's tournament on European soil requires over four hundred million pounds however for the women's event the cost is approximately thirty million pounds.
